About the Role

The Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Screening Practitioner to join our team at the Royal United Hospital, Bath. As a key member of our Bowel Cancer Screening Programme, you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive high-quality care and support throughout the screening process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for patients within the bowel screening programme, ensuring they are appropriately assessed and receive effective care.
  • Work autonomously as a Specialist Screening Practitioner, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team and staff at other sites to deliver an equal and diverse bowel cancer screening service.
  • Develop professional relationships and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives and think creatively to enhance the screening process.

Requirements

  • A first-level registered nurse with a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Degree in Nursing and evidence of continuing professional development to post-graduate diploma level.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop professional relationships and communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
