Principal Independent Safety Engineer

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Rullion Ltd is seeking a Principal Independent Safety Engineer to join their team in Barrow. The ideal candidate will have a degree or equivalent in a STEM subject, experience in Audit & Regulation, and nuclear plant operation experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform independent inspection, surveillance and concurrence of nuclear work on facilities, plant, equipment and nuclear support services to evaluate the nuclear and radiological safety and security performance
- Inspect and assess the capability to progress the build and/or projects in the Site Redevelopment Programme
- Ensure necessary level of compliance is achieved
- Communicate the conclusions of inspections and their findings to various stakeholders at all levels
- Independently assess the emergency arrangements exercises and provide feedback to those developing and maintaining the arrangements
- Oversee Independent Peer Review activities related to safety documentation aligned with individual Assurance Plans
