We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Study Skills Support Specialist to join our team at Randstad. As a Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker, you will provide personalized academic support and guidance to students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) studying at universities and/or colleges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop customized learning plans to meet the specific needs of students
- Provide one-to-one support to students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies, and create strategies around organization and time management
- Support students to create action plans to stay on track with their studies and build on research skills, including widening knowledge by using a variety of sources
- Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
- Build on comprehension skills within reading and writing
Requirements:
- Membership with one of the following professional bodies: British Dyslexia Association (BDA), Professional Membership The Association of Dyslexia (ADSHE), Dyslexia Guild, or The Professional Association of Teachers of Students with Specific Learning Difficulties (PATOSS)
- Desirable skills include experience of working with clients with specific learning difficulties, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to identify ways of helping students to build on their learning strengths, punctuality and reliability, good organizational skills, and ability to manage a caseload of students
