HGV Technician Job Description

At TLP Careers, we are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our client, a well-established haulage operator who maintains their trucks in-house.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing inspection, service, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of commercial vehicles, including 7.5t trucks, tractor units, and everything in between.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain commercial vehicles to ensure they are roadworthy and compliant with regulations.
  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake repairs.
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with commercial vehicles.
  • Work on a Monday-Friday early/late shift rotation, with overtime opportunities available.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician, with a strong understanding of commercial vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
  • Valid HGV Technician certification and a clean driving license.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of £49,205 (£19.22 per hour) + overtime, with yearly earnings in the region of £55,000 - £60,000.
  • Overtime paid at £28.83 per hour on Mondays-Saturdays and £38.44 per hour on Sundays and bank holidays.
  • A generous holiday package, including an extra day off in lieu for bank holidays worked.
