About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our award-winning team in North Devon. As a key member of our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, compassionate care to children and young people with complex mental health needs.

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for managing a defined caseload, providing expert assessment and evidence-based treatment, and contributing to the multi-disciplinary approach of the team. You will work closely with children, young people, and their families to develop and implement personalized care plans, ensuring that their physical and emotional needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a defined caseload of children and young people with complex mental health needs
  • Provide expert assessment and evidence-based treatment, including therapeutic interventions and support
  • Contribute to the multi-disciplinary approach of the team, working closely with other professionals to develop and implement care plans
  • Engage in team and service development, participating in audit, evaluation, and review
  • Provide clinical supervision and support to colleagues
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A professional mental health qualification, such as a Social Work Degree, RMN, or equivalent
  • Active registration with the relevant professional body
  • Recognized qualification in evidenced-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people
  • Postgraduate qualification relevant to the specialism
  • Substantial experience of managing a complex caseload and working with children and young people with mental health needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
