Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our warehouse operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of our warehouse, including inventory management, material handling, and facilities maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and respond to all incoming email enquiries from the Store mailbox.
  • Coordinate and book incoming deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate receipt of goods.
  • Prepare and organize pallets for dispatch, ensuring efficient and safe handling of materials.
  • Create and manage FedEx shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and timely delivery.
  • Sort and distribute post to site employees, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Organize international shipments, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and timely delivery.
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders in SAP and Coupa, ensuring accurate and timely ordering of goods.
  • Handle EDC returns efficiently, minimizing delays and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Perform warehouse manual handling and operate forklifts as required, maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory management, including stock counts and cycle counts, to ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory levels.
  • Conduct regular audits of warehouse safety and cleanliness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Cover for Mike during his absence, ensuring all his responsibilities are met and maintaining continuity of operations.
  • Ensure timely replenishment of warehouse supplies, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Maintain an organized and clean warehouse layout, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed, maintaining a high level of safety and compliance.
  • Perform routine safety inspections and equipment maintenance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to warehouse operations, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues promptly.
  • Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to meet customer expectations, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods and services.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of supplies and materials, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Manage International Shipments of Hazardous Goods, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely delivery.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions, maintaining a high level of efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilities Duties:
    • Change gas cylinders safely and in accordance with safety protocols.
    • Act as a key holder and emergency contact person, ensuring a high level of safety and security.
    • Conduct weekly site inspections to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
    • Manage the CMS Workshop, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
    • Order uniforms for all Thermo and Unity employees, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) as required, ensuring a high level of safety and compliance.
    • Manage cabale management to ensure a tidy and safe work environment.
    • Serve as Fire Warden, conducting regular fire drills and ensuring a high level of safety and compliance.
    • Perform weekly fire alarm testing, ensuring a high level of safety and compliance.
    • Undertake small maintenance jobs around the site, including minor repairs, to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
    • Manage site clearance, waste management, and disposal, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Perform weekly water tap flushing to maintain hygiene standards.
    • Conduct weekly checks on fridges and freezers to ensure proper operation.
    • Clean the backyard and jet wash emergency evacuation routes, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Maintain outdoor areas, including lawns, gardens, parking lots, and walkways, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
    • Maintain housekeeping standards on the mezzanine floor, ensuring a high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, ensuring a high level of accountability and transparency.
    • Ensure that all tools and equipment are in good working condition, maintaining a high level of safety and efficiency.
    • Ensure outdoor areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Assist with facility improvement projects and renovations, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
    • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth project execution, maintaining a high level of communication and teamwork.
    • Cover reception duties during mornings and lunch breaks, ensuring a high level of customer service and support.
    • Assist in coordinating site events and meetings, ensuring a high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Monitor and reorder facility supplies, such as office consumables and cleaning products, maintaining a high level of organization and attention to detail.
    • Maintain and update facility-related documentation and records, ensuring a high level of accountability and transparency.
    Requirements
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • 1-2 years of experience in warehouse operations, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
    • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
