Job Title: Learning Support Assistant for Students with Special Educational Needs


Location: Ealing, London


Contract Type: Full-time/Part-time, supply


Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a student with Special Educational Needs.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide individualized support to the student, ensuring they can fully engage in classroom activities.
  • Assist the student with learning tasks, helping them to achieve their individual targets.
  • Support the student's social, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • Help implement strategies and interventions outlined in the student's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Adapt learning materials and activities to suit the needs of the student.
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to support.
  • Provide regular feedback on the student's progress and well-being to teachers and parents.

Requirements:



  • Previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly in a one-to-one setting.
  • Strong understanding of a range of SEN conditions, such as Autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build a positive relationship with the student.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external specialists.
  • Experience using interventions and strategies tailored to support students with SEN is desirable.
