Learning Support Specialist for Secondary Students with SEN

We are seeking a highly motivated Learning Support Specialist to join our team, working with secondary-aged students with special educational needs. This vital role involves providing individualized support in small group settings, assisting students in engaging with the curriculum and enhancing their learning outcomes.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with classroom teachers and the SEN team to develop and implement effective learning strategies tailored to the needs of each student. You will foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting social interaction and building students' confidence and independence.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing individualized support to students with SEN in small group settings, assisting them in engaging with the curriculum and enhancing their learning outcomes.
- Collaborating closely with classroom teachers and the SEN team to develop and implement effective learning strategies tailored to the needs of each student.
- Fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social interaction and builds students' confidence and independence.
- Monitoring student progress and contributing to the evaluation of individual learning plans, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.
- Participating in school-wide initiatives and professional development opportunities to further enhance your skills and knowledge in SEN education.
- SUPPORTING students in developing essential life skills and social competencies, encouraging positive behavior and peer relationships.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Experience working with secondary-aged students, particularly those with special educational needs.
- A strong commitment to inclusive education and a passion for helping students achieve their potential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
- A patient and adaptable approach, capable of responding to the diverse needs of students.
- A clear DBS check to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students.
We offer a competitive salary package, estimated at £28,000 - £35,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
