Manufacturing Process Optimization Specialist

TE Connectivity is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to optimize and standardize manufacturing processes, design and develop automation platforms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement automation and semi-automation projects to enhance productivity and efficiency across the site.
- Support the Manufacturing Engineering team with knowledge and experience in automation technologies and create clear business case justifications for investment.
- Ensure the smooth integration of new equipment into production through clear project ownership from concept to implementation and acceptance testing.
- Support upgrades and problem-solving on existing automated equipment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and improve manufacturing processes.
- Stay up-to-date with technical developments and review manufacturing methods to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and company procedures.
- Perform other reasonable tasks as directed by the business.
Requirements
- HNC or Degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of industry experience.
- Practical knowledge of assembly techniques and a background in manufacturing engineering.
- Previous experience working with automation essential.
- Experience using SAP.
- Ability to identify and recommend new or improved manufacturing processes and technical developments.
- Strong project management skills and ability to use own initiative to troubleshoot problems in Production areas.
- Continuous improvement skills involving Material Replenishment and Flow, Cell Design, Quick Change Over (SMED), 5S+1, Mistake Proofing and Standards of Work.
- Drive and passion to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Financial understanding and experience building CAPEX project justifications.
- Experience creating RFQs and working with suppliers to deliver key investment projects.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or equivalent highly desirable.
- Experience with digital machine connectivity.
- Continuous improvement skills involving Material Replenishment and Flow and Cycle Wheels or Heijunka Boards.
