About the Role

Compass is seeking a skilled Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Derby and Derbyshire. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues in educational settings.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and young people
  • Conduct mental health assessments of children and young people
  • Work with designated senior mental health leads in educational settings
  • Provide timely advice to school and college staff and parents as required

Requirements

  • Core professional qualification relevant to mental health (e.g. CWP, IAPT, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work)
  • Experience of working with children and young people, their families, and others
  • Knowledge of educational environments, safeguarding issues, and capacity and consent issues
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness
