Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Biodiversity and ESIA/ESDD Specialist to join our team at Climate17.
About the Role:
- The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in environmental sciences.
- You will work extensively in emerging markets, collaborating with international financial institutions to manage and mitigate ESG risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement ESG systems, build ESG capacity, and manage ESG risk on multi-billion-dollar developments.
- Develop project reports, including ESIA and ESDD studies, and biodiversity management action plans.
- Apply IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles for ESIA/ESDD and/or biodiversity projects.
- Support corporates in developing biodiversity/nature-positive strategies.
- Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure report requirements are met.
- Manage project budgets and schedules.
- Represent the firm at meetings with clients, lenders, and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in environmental, biological, biophysical, or social sciences (post-graduate degree preferred but not essential).
- Comfortable with client-facing roles and liaising on technical and project requirements.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per annum
