Tooling Quality Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Tooling Quality Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for certifying manufacturing tools to meet drawing requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Certification and Quality Assurance: Utilize FARO Vantage laser tracking equipment and Spatial Analyser software to certify tools according to drawing specifications.
- Team Management: Manage team performance and wellbeing, ensuring safety, quality, timely delivery, and cost efficiency.
- Tooling Asset Management: Oversee the repair and maintenance of tooling assets, both internally and externally.
- Design and Manufacturing Support: Support internal design and manufacturing engineers on NPI projects, including preparing ROM tool costings for new bids.
- Tooling Governance: Maintain governance of tooling assets in line with customer requirements.
- Technical Expertise: Detailed understanding of GD&T, limits & fits, and strong knowledge of assembly and manufacturing in both metallic and composite products.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret specifications.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Education: Degree in Engineering/Technical discipline or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Project Management: Strong project management skills.
- CAD Software: Competence in using CAD software, preferably Catia V5.
- Travel: Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas to meet customers and suppliers.
- Emerging Technologies: In-depth knowledge of emerging technologies, including digital tools relevant to the aviation industry and on-site processes.
