Associate Director - Transport Planning (Manchester)

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to lead our transport planning team in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects for clients in the private and public sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on work winning through established client contacts and build a solid workload to support the development of a small team.
  • Provide project management and technical support, manage staff, and support the mentoring and development of junior team members.
  • Take individual responsibility for projects and manage them, serving as the client's main point of contact.
  • Instruct, supervise, and mentor junior staff as well as support their professional development.
Requirements:
  • Proven project management and business development capabilities, including proposal writing.
  • Knowledge of the UK transport planning industry and the UK planning system.
  • Extensive experience in preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport chapters for Environmental Statements, etc.
  • Self-motivation and capability to undertake specific tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to manage own time to meet project deadlines.
  • Experience of delivering technically challenging projects.
  • Experience of liaising/negotiating with public and private sector clients.
  • Understanding of current design guides such as Manual for Streets and DMRB.
  • Degree or Masters in a relevant subject (e.g. transport planning, civil engineering, geography).
