Associate Director - Transport Planning (Manchester)

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to lead our transport planning team in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of projects for clients in the private and public sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to grow our client base in the North West region.
  • Lead on project management and technical support, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
  • Manage and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Take individual responsibility for projects, serving as the client's main point of contact and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Demonstrate expertise in transport planning, with a strong understanding of the UK transport planning industry and the UK planning system.

Requirements:

  • Proven project management and business development capabilities, including proposal writing.
  • Extensive experience in preparing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, and Transport chapters for Environmental Statements.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise and negotiate with public and private sector clients.
  • Strong understanding of current design guides, such as Manual for Streets and DMRB.
  • Degree or Masters in a relevant subject, such as transport planning, civil engineering, or geography.
