About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Scientist to join our Radiation Protection Group. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe use of ionising and non-ionising radiation in our hospital.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the group's work, including ionising radiation protection, optical radiation protection, and electromagnetic fields. You will work closely with clinical staff to assess the safety requirements of personal protective equipment, carry out equipment performance testing, and provide training to various staff groups on radiation safety.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have a good honours degree in a relevant subject, HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist, and relevant MSc or equivalent. You will also have experience of operating x-ray and laser equipment, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to use initiative to resolve problems.
