About the RoleWe are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced colleague with a comprehensive knowledge of tree protection and management practices, TPO legislation, and planning policy guidance. As an Arboricultural Officer, you will be responsible for carrying out surveys and assessments for tree work applications, making tree preservation orders, and providing expert advice on developments affecting trees.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out surveys and assessments for tree work applications
- Make tree preservation orders and provide expert advice on developments affecting trees
- Work with the team to manage the planned programme of tree preservation order reviews
- Provide expert advice to colleagues on developments affecting trees
- Relevant qualification in arboriculture or a related subject
- Experience in administering planning controls and regulations in relation to trees
- Good knowledge of planning law, policy, and procedures relating to trees
- Strong IT skills to support working with packages such as Word, Excel, and Access
- Good written communication skills to produce clear reports and documentation
