Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Arboricultural Officer to join our team at Kirklees Council. As a key member of our Conservation, Design, Ecology, and Trees team, you will play a vital role in conserving, managing, and shaping the green infrastructure of Kirklees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out surveys and assessments for Tree Work applications
  • Make Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and provide advice on development discussions and Planning applications
  • Provide expert advice to colleagues on developments affecting trees
  • Help manage the planned programme of Tree Preservation Order reviews

Requirements

  • A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Tree protection and management practice, TPO legislation, Planning policy guidance, and Tree-protection related case law
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Able to work in a team environment and provide expert advice to colleagues
