We are working on behalf of a well-established special school in Reading that caters to pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), moderate to severe learning difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. The school prides itself on creating a nurturing, inclusive environment where each pupil receives personalized support to help them thrive and achieve their potential.

Job Description:

As a Class Teacher, you will lead a small class of typically fewer than ten pupils, ensuring each child receives tailored support suited to their unique needs. You'll work alongside a team of dedicated support staff, most of whom work one-to-one with pupils, allowing for highly individualized learning and progress.

  1. Develop individual education plans (IEPs) and track progress against targets.
  2. Collaborate with support staff to deliver multi-sensory lessons and create a nurturing atmosphere.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching children with SEN.
  • Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, particularly for pupils with ASD, MLD, or SLM.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to the changing needs of pupils.
