Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Community Staff Nurse to take on the role of Deputy Team Leader in our Community Nursing Team. This is an exciting opportunity to enhance and develop your leadership knowledge and skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Main Duties of the Job

The successful candidate will work alongside the District Nurse Team Leader, assisting in managing and leading the Community Nursing Team. They will also work in collaboration with the wider Integrated Community Care/Primary Care services to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-focused planned and unplanned care at home.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing and leading the Community Nursing Team
  • Work in collaboration with the wider Integrated Community Care/Primary Care services
  • Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-focused planned and unplanned care at home

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Level 1
  • District Nurse degree (or a willingness to complete DN Qualification as directed by management)
  • Experience of administration of Intravenous medications

Desirable Criteria

  • Nurse prescriber (V150)
  • Non-Medical Prescriber (V300)
  • Mentorship qualification/Assessor Supervisor/ENB998

Experience

  • Experience of working with older people, palliative care, chronic disease, and continuing professional knowledge and development
  • Experience of teaching and mentorship
  • Evidence of knowledge and experience of Case Management
  • Change management and leadership skills
  • Working in partnership with other healthcare providers, social services, etc.
  • Experience in the management of staff
  • Experience of multidisciplinary working

Knowledge

  • Sound understanding of Primary care and multi-agency working
  • Awareness of the value of audit/research and evidence-based practice
  • Awareness of NHS issues
  • IT
  • Audit skills

Skills and Abilities

  • Evidence of ability to communicate both verbally and in writing at all levels in multi-disciplinary forums and with users and carers
  • Able to organise and coordinate services in collaboration with, and in the absence of the District Nurse Team Leader

Attributes

  • Due to the requirement to undertake visits and transport non-portable equipment, the post holder is required to be either a car driver with a valid driving licence, or have access to an alternative means of transport
