Learning Support Specialist

The Progress Group is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Specialist to join our team in Northamptonshire. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students who require additional guidance to succeed in their educational journey.
Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with a caseload of up to five students, providing tailored academic support and essential pastoral care to help them overcome obstacles and achieve their academic goals. By doing so, you will contribute to creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and development.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with a caseload of up to five students who have faced challenges in their educational journey.
- Develop and implement personalized learning plans to address student needs and promote academic success.
- Collaborate with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to ensure seamless support and guidance for students.

Requirements
- Hold a teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or be willing to work towards it. Degree or equivalent, with Maths and English to at least Level 2. Specialist teaching qualification in a chosen subject (desirable).
- Demonstrate strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to manage student behavior effectively and show a commitment to pastoral care.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with parents, community organizations, and stakeholders to support students with diverse and challenging needs.
- Understand and adhere to equality of opportunity, safeguarding, child protection, and inclusion issues, particularly in alternative education settings serving vulnerable populations.
- Show ability to quickly identify and address challenges faced by students, ensuring appropriate follow-up and support for their individual needs.
- Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, tailored to engage effectively with students, parents/carers, community members, and colleagues.
