About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our KS2 team at a vibrant and friendly school. The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering lessons and whole-class teaching, preparing students for year 6.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide small group intervention to support children's maths and literacy skills.
  • Assist in the delivery of educational healthcare plans (EHCPs) and differentiated learning activities.
  • Support pupils in developing essential skills, such as communication, social interaction, and independence.
  • Assist with classroom management, including supporting positive behavior and creating a safe and engaging learning environment.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in SEN support.
About You

The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and a commitment to inclusive education. You should possess:

  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude, with the ability to respond to the varying needs of students.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
