Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a 2-form entry Primary School in South Bristol. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and pupils in the Year 1 class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to develop and implement activities that meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Provide one-to-one support and small group interventions to pupils who require additional support.
  • Assist the class teacher in maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Support the class teacher in planning and preparing lessons, including adapting activities to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues to ensure that pupils receive the support they need.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working in a primary school setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the class teacher and other support staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Knowledge of child development and learning theories.
