Job Summary

The Commonwealth of Virginia seeks a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as the Associate Director for Assessment in the Academic Affairs division. This key role will be responsible for managing the annual academic assessment reporting process for all academic programs, ensuring institutional effectiveness and compliance with accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment Planning and Reporting: Develop and implement assessment plans and reports for all academic programs, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure data-driven decision making.
  • Strategic Planning and Accreditation: Support the development of strategic plans and initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and accreditation requirements.
  • Staff Supervision and Development: Supervise and train staff in assessment planning and reporting, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Faculty Consultation and Leadership: Provide consultation and leadership to faculty assessment committees, promoting a culture of assessment and continuous improvement.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze and interpret data to inform decision making, developing reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in social science, education, business, or a related field is required.
  • Assessment Experience: Considerable experience in assessment planning and reporting, with a strong understanding of accreditation standards and institutional effectiveness.
  • Communication and Leadership Skills: Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in database, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software applications, as well as experience with assessment platforms and web development software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctoral Degree: A doctoral degree or teaching experience is preferred.
  • Survey Development and Online Software: Considerable knowledge of survey development and online software, with experience working with web development software and assessment platforms.
