**Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Head Baker to lead our production team and drive operational excellence in our bakery. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for managing and motivating a dynamic team, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations, and contributing to the sustained growth and success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Lead, manage, and support a dynamic production team, ensuring efficient day-to-day operational excellence.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to the sustained growth and success of Flourish Craft Bakery Ltd by implementing best practices and improving processes.
  • Staff Management: Line manage, motivate, and support Heads of Department, Bakers, and teams within Bread, Cake & Pastry Production, including the Packing team.
  • Rotas and Scheduling: Organize and coordinate all production teams, ensuring staff rotas take into account skill levels, holiday, and sickness, deploying staff across teams to meet demand and arranging cover as necessary.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all baked goods are produced as required, following Company recipes and procedures.
  • Supply Chain Management: Source and cost ingredients, identify potential new suppliers, managing quality and value for money.
  • Recruitment and Onboarding: Recruit, onboard, and induct new team members and manage staffing levels.
  • Culture and Performance: Actively work with other managers and Directors to promote a positive culture where staff feel valued and supported, develop and maintain high levels of commitment, flexibility, and performance.
  • Health and Safety: Investigate and resolve any non-conformances, revising systems and processes to minimize issues moving forward.
  • Food Safety: Undertake regular quality assurance audits across all Production areas and ensure compliance with SALSA accreditation.
  • Product Development: Liaise with Head Bakers and HoDs to develop and introduce new products based on seasonality, customer preferences, and market trends.
  • Maintenance and Equipment: Organize the repair and routine maintenance of all production equipment and areas as required.
  • Business Development: Take a proactive role as part of the management team in suggesting, evaluating, and implementing new ideas and initiatives to grow the business, increase profitability, and extend our excellent reputation.

Requirements:

  • Competence in Bakery Production: Must be competent in all areas of bakery production; bread, pastry, and cake.
  • Management Experience: Extensive successful experience of managing in high-end food production.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience of leading, managing, and motivating a dynamic, successful team.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of SALSA, Health and Safety, and Food Safety regulations, and proven experience of consistently implementing high standards.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Outstanding communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technology Skills: Good technology skills and a working knowledge and understanding of Cybake.
  • Language Skills: Good command of written and spoken English.
