Job DescriptionRole Overview

We are seeking a Trading Technology Support Engineer to join our team in the London office. This role is to provide technology support for trading systems to BTIG EMEA, particularly focusing on FIX and OMS.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supporting Trading Flow: Ensure the smooth operation of trading systems, identifying and resolving technical issues promptly.
  • Configuring New Clients: Set up new clients' trading systems, ensuring accurate configuration and testing.
  • Morning Checks: Perform daily checks to verify system stability and identify potential issues.
  • Monitoring Alerts: Keep track of system alerts, taking swift action to resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Incident Management: Take ownership of incidents, communicating effectively with stakeholders and resolving issues efficiently.
  • First Point of Contact: Be the primary point of contact for escalation of issues, providing timely support to internal teams.
  • Working as Part of a Global Team: Collaborate with a global team using a 'follow the sun' model, ensuring seamless support across time zones.
  • Understanding Trading Flow: Familiarize yourself with trading flow for all Equities business areas, ensuring comprehensive knowledge.
  • Onboarding New Clients: Assist in onboarding new clients, configuring their systems and providing necessary support.
  • Introducing and Supporting New Flows: Help introduce and support new flows, working closely with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Collaboration with Global Teams: Work with colleagues in Global Technology, outsourced technology service providers, and product vendor support functions to resolve issues spanning all BTIG offices.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Qualifications: A degree in a relevant field (e.g., BSc) or equivalent formal training.
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Skills: Understanding of FIX, Equities markets, and front-office environments within financial institutions.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Logical and critical thinking abilities to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and collaboration skills, building strong relationships with colleagues and external partners.
  • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
  • Independence: Self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • Multi-Tasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prioritization: Skillful prioritization of tasks to meet deadlines.
About the Role

This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a £65,000 - £85,000 per annum salary range, dependent on experience.
