Hudson River Trading is seeking a highly skilled expert to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of low-latency market optimization through cutting-edge systems and infrastructure expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and optimize worldwide trading infrastructure to ensure seamless performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct thorough performance testing and tuning to optimize system interactions with diverse trading venues.
  • Analyze time series network and exchange protocol captures to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that enhance low-latency performance.
  • Broaden knowledge of various markets and exchanges by attending presentations and collaborating with exchange counterparts to optimize system interactions.
  • Research exchange features, capabilities, and architecture with an emphasis on low-latency communication to inform strategic decisions.
  • Design and execute technical projects to improve the speed, adaptability, and maintainability of HRT's trading systems (linux, hardware, network, etc.).
  • Develop and conduct controlled experiments to measure the impact of calculated changes to HRT's trading infrastructure.
  • Automate and troubleshoot a broad range of technical infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Optimize the fill rate of custom hardware-based trading strategies by optimizing system components.
  • Identify infrastructure optimizations based on a full-stack understanding of HRT's low-latency trading platform and interconnected markets.
  • Investigate and document details related to various latency-sensitive exchanges.
  • Communicate complex ideas and results effectively across different teams within the organization.

About You

  • You have 7+ years of relevant experience supporting complex trading environments, including advanced understanding of proprietary trading and exchange technologies.
  • You possess a strong understanding of TCP and UDP network protocols, as well as modern computer systems and networks emphasizing low-latency optimization.
  • Your proficiency in Python and other programming languages is a plus, as is your familiarity with FPGA, Microwave, and Wireless technologies.
  • You have a solid grasp of capture and timing infrastructure.

Compensation: Estimated salary $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
