About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Core IDVA to join our team at Advance. As a Core IDVA, you will play a critical role in providing independent domestic abuse advocacy and support to women, children, and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality advocacy and support to clients, focusing on those at high risk of harm
  • Work closely with clients to develop and implement safety plans, ensuring their needs are met and risks are mitigated
  • Collaborate with partner agencies, including the police, social services, and healthcare providers, to ensure a coordinated response to domestic abuse
  • Advise clients on criminal justice and civil remedies, supporting them to access relevant services and resources
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to ensure client safety
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to domestic abuse
Requirements
  • Proven experience in domestic abuse advocacy and support, with a strong understanding of the sector and its best practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and partner agencies
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and protocols, with the ability to apply them in practice
