Swansea, City and County of Swansea, United Kingdom GAIA RECRUITMENT LIMITED Full time

Discover a fulfilling career in healthcare with GAIA RECRUITMENT LIMITED

As a seasoned nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist or paramedic, you may be looking for a change that utilizes your skills differently. You could leverage your experience to become a Functional Assessor.

We provide unbiased, comprehensive assessments for claimants of the Government's disability allowance (Personal Independence Payment) over the phone, on a video call, or in person. Our client seeks individuals with compassion and experience to understand claimants' health conditions/disabilities and their impact on daily life. Strong computer skills, impartiality, and time management are also essential.

About the Role

You will conduct initial reviews, paper-based, face-to-face, video, or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant's health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life. Our hybrid model allows you to work from home and be assigned to work from your nearest assessment centre on a rota basis to deliver face-to-face assessments.

To create reports, you will observe and document an individual's ability to perform activities while analyzing and interpreting clinical information and supporting evidence. Each day, you will generate three comprehensive 3,000-4,000-word reports for each claimant. Your training will equip you to provide detailed, evidence-based reports to support the DWP in making decisions.

Your Requirements

  • One year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, or paramedic
  • Fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC, HCPC, or other), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, enabling you to listen, empathize, and gather more information
  • The ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute
  • Demonstrable experience with using IT and Microsoft Office, as well as remotely accessing systems such as MS Teams

£38,500 - £41,500 per annum, plus retention bonuses and career progression opportunities.
