Job Overview

The Surgical Emergency Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital is a fast-paced and dynamic department that cares for patients with a wide range of emergency general surgical conditions. The unit has in-patient beds across ward areas and an Emergency Triage that receives patients referred directly by GP, the Emergency Department, paramedic referrals, or out-patient clinics.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed individual to join our team as a Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse within the Surgical Emergency Unit. The successful applicant will be coordinating SEU D Side, supporting the nursing staff, and managing patient flow, while providing clinical leadership and coordinating with the SEU Bleep holder.

The post holder will also lead a small team of nurses with the support of the ward sister, ensuring staff have an annual appraisal and appropriate training. The post holder is expected to support the Ward Sisters with Ulysses investigations, patient complaints, and monthly audits.
