Job Title: Delivery Driver/Team Leader
Location: Bristol
Duration: 12-week Temporary to Permanent, with opportunity for permanent contract after successful period.
Salary: £12.58 per hour, £29,050 per annum after successful 12-week temporary to permanent period.
Working Hours: Five nights per week, 2 AM to 10 AM, with minimum 40 hours per week.
As a night owl looking for a new challenge, you can thrive in this dynamic role as a Team Leader with a leading delivery company. The company specializes in newspaper delivery across the Bristol area and offers comprehensive training and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and Lead: Oversee warehouse activities to ensure smooth operations and a safe working environment.
- Facilitate Between Operatives and Managers: Act as a liaison to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Train and Develop: Provide training and support to team members.
- Admin and Tracking: Manage attendance, track overtime, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Incident Management and Improvement: Investigate incidents, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
- Achieve KPI Targets: Meet company scorecard objectives, driving productivity and efficiency.
- Audit and Documentation: Ensure all records are accurate and ready for internal and external audits.
- Communicate and Improve: Facilitate team huddles and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain Standards: Ensure high standards of housekeeping and compliance with safety procedures.
Experience and Skills:
- Warehouse Flexibility: Demonstrable flexibility to undertake a variety of duties in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Target-Oriented: Tenacious and effective in meeting and exceeding targets, delivering an outstanding client experience.
- Communication:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Adaptability: Positive and effective when working with ambiguity and changing commercial drivers.
- Efficiency and Accuracy: Able to work at pace while maintaining a high-quality output.
- Organisational Skills: Highly organized with a well-developed approach to prioritization.
- Training Capability: Ability to train operators consistently, review their progress, and provide constructive feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of driving experience
- Experience in van driving
- FLT (Forklift Truck) license is advantageous
- Knowledge of health, safety, and security standards.
