About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled journalist with excellent news judgment, strong writing skills, and experience handling major breaking news stories. You will be responsible for monitoring live online events, TV broadcasts, and social media feeds to spot news opportunities and deliver high-quality content to our clients.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the UK & Ireland Bureau Chief and coordinate closely with the visuals team on breaking news. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a strong ability to work calmly under pressure and maintain the bureau's excellent timings record.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A passion for speed and accuracy
  • Excellent news judgment across the file
  • Very strong writing skills
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well in a tight-knit team
  • Experience handling major breaking news stories and directly injecting copy
  • An ability to work calmly under pressure
