We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Leader to join our team at the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of research achievement and a clear vision for their future research direction.

About the Role

The Group Leader will be responsible for leading a research group and contributing to the development of the Institute's research strategy. They will also be expected to secure external funding to support their research and to collaborate with other researchers within the Institute and across the University.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years postdoctoral experience. They will also have a strong track record of research achievement and a clear vision for their future research direction.

Successful candidates will be supported to obtain external personal fellowship and grant support, prior to contracts commencing. Interim start-up packages may be available depending on individual circumstances.

Fixed Term: The offer of any position will be conditional on the candidate securing a fellowship which includes their salary. Candidates may already have secured a fellowship in which case the end date of the post would be the same as the end date of fellowship. If candidates have not already secured a fellowship they will only be able to take up appointment when they have done so - the tenure of the appointment will be the length of the fellowship term.

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a health assessment.

Research Associate (SRA) level; appointment as an SRA will require evidence of an independent research reputation. Due to the levels of skills and experience required we anticipate making an appointment either on the RA scale or towards the bottom of the SRA scale.

Approval to Senior Research Associate is subject to Faculty Board approval.

Date of interview: Interviews will be held over a 2-day period likely to be in Late October/Early November.
