Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in the West Midlands. As a Support Worker, you will work with individuals with Learning Disabilities, providing personalized care and support to enable them to live independently and reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support to individuals with Learning Disabilities, promoting their independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
  • Enable individuals to access community-based services and facilities, promoting social inclusion and participation.
  • Assist with personal care, including skin care, bathing, shaving, oral care, intimate care, dressing/undressing, and hair care.
  • Support individuals with housekeeping duties, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, ironing, and running errands.
  • Collaborate with external professional groups, such as GPs and Social Services, to ensure comprehensive care and support.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain accurate records of work done, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
  • Recent and extensive experience working with children or adults with Learning Disabilities.
  • Comfortable providing personal and intimate care to service users.
  • Able to undertake the moving and handling of service users following training.
  • Display a caring and empathetic approach to people with Learning Disabilities.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Child and Adult DBS registered to the update service.
