Sr. Adult Psychiatry Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Adult Psychiatry Specialist to join our team in Lancaster. As a key member of our general adult inpatient unit, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to patients requiring acute mental health support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing care for adult inpatients.
  • Lead multidisciplinary ward rounds, ensuring seamless coordination with psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, and support staff.
  • Act as Responsible Clinician (RC) for patients under your care, making informed decisions to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and uphold clinical governance standards, driving excellence in patient care.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required to maintain continuity of care.
Essential Requirements:
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
  • CCT in General Adult Psychiatry or equivalent, or within six months of completion.
  • Section 12 approval, Approved Clinician (AC) status, and experience as a Responsible Clinician.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
