Clinical Lead

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Lead to join our team at Meadowbrook inpatient unit. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership, working alongside the MDT with complex cases, and supporting the ward manager in the development of wellbeing of staff.
Meadowbrook is a 67 bedded unit on the site of Salford Royal Hospital for adults of working age. It is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that offers a challenge, with a high level of support.
You will ensure staff commitment to evidence-based practice and ensure the delivery of a quality service. You will have the necessary skills to lead, support colleagues, and be visible and accessible to staff across all of the wards.
The post holder must hold a current nursing qualification (RMN) and have demonstrable post-registration experience in an acute inpatient setting. You will also have experience of designing and running QI projects and in coordinating and delivering training.
The post requires excellent clinical skills in risk assessment, meaningful analysis, care planning, and delivering evidence-based interventions, as well as a keen interest in all aspects of acute inpatient mental health service provision.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting and developing clinical leadership and practice within the inpatient unit, providing expertise and support as required working closely with the Matron / Operational manager to ensure an effective and high-quality service provision.
The post holder will have an active role in the MDT to support with complex cases, discharge planning, and multi-agency working. They will attend ward rounds and professional meetings where indicated. They will support improving the standards of care documentation through guidance and training, supporting the ward managers with leading on reducing restrictive practices across the unit, and leading on quality improvement in line with service development needs.
The post holder will support the ward manager with CQC compliance, including the completion of relevant audits and supporting with action plans where needed.
The post holder will lead on training for the service, supporting managers to develop staff. The post holder will be responsible for developing and delivering training on occasions, and will coordinate the local preceptorship programme for newly qualified nurses.
Core hours will be 9-5. The post holder will also participate in the local on-call manager rota, which in exceptional circumstances may involve attendance out of hours to support junior staff with serious incidents.
