Job Title: Data Centre Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team at Sudlows, a leading technical services company in the UK. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres and providing exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned maintenance and reactive calls in data centres to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Undertake small electrical installation projects, site surveys, and supervise third-party contractors to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Work with the latest data centre technologies and participate in award-winning projects as part of a forward-thinking team.
  • Conduct site surveys, gather and present material lists and labour requirements for quotations, and ensure all tasks adhere to relevant compliances and regulations.
  • Fixed wiring testing and compliance to current IEE regulations, and have due regard for HASAWA, COSHH, and Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Be available for call-out in the event of site facilities systems failures and participate in paid out-of-hours reactive attendance on a rota basis.
  • Ensure accurate recording of works carried out onto the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) database in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • Understanding and experience of working within data centres and other critical environments.
  • Current Electricity at Work regulations (IEE) qualification (18th edition preferred).
  • A high level of electrical and mechanical experience in site-related work, including experience of HVAC and plumbing.
  • City and Guilds Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing.
  • GMP documentation knowledge, including quality investigations and completing quality documentation.
  • The role is field-based, and applicants must be willing to undertake significant travel and/or nights away from home.
Advantageous Qualifications:
  • Level 1 thermography certification.
