Data Centre Engineer Job Description

At Sudlows, we are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres, working on award-winning projects, and developing your career in the field of mission critical engineering services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake Data Centre planned maintenance, reactive calls, small Electrical installation projects, site surveys, and third-party contractor supervision.
  • Ensure all site works are undertaken in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Work with the latest data centre technologies and collaborate with our team to deliver exceptional results.
  • Conduct site surveys, gather and present material lists, and labour requirements for quotations.
  • Ensure all tasks carried out adhere to relevant compliances, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Perform fixed wiring testing and compliance to current regulations.
  • Be available for call-out in the event of site facilities systems failures and paid out-of-hours reactive attendance.
  • Accurately record all works carried out onto the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) database.
Requirements:
  • Understanding and experience of working within Data Centres and other critical environments.
  • City and Guilds Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing.
  • GMP documentation knowledge, including quality investigations and completing quality documentation.
  • Level 1 thermography certification (advantageous).
