Job Title: Data Centre Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team at Sudlows, a leading technical services company in the UK. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centres and providing exceptional technical services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned maintenance, reactive calls, and small electrical installation projects in data centres.
  • Conduct site surveys and gather material lists and labour requirements for quotations.
  • Oversee contractors working onsite, ensuring risk assessments and method statements are in place.
  • Work unsupervised on small installation projects, such as LV electrical, small power, and lighting, UPS installations, etc.
  • Ensure all tasks carried out adhere to relevant compliances, policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform fixed wiring testing and compliance to current IEE regulations.
  • Have due regard for HASAWA, COSHH, and Electricity at Work Regulations, and recommend remedial actions as necessary.
  • Be available for call-out in the event of site facilities systems failures.
  • Ensure all works carried out are accurately recorded onto the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) database.
Requirements:
  • Current Electricity at Work regulations (IEE) qualification (18th edition preferred).
  • A high level of electrical and mechanical experience in site-related work, including experience of HVAC and plumbing.
  • City and Guilds Initial and Periodic Electrical Inspection and Testing.
  • GMP documentation knowledge, including quality investigations and completing quality documentation.
  • Level 1 thermography certification (advantageous).
