About the Role

As a Legal Counsel at Reed Exhibitions Limited Company, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating legal risks associated with our technology procurement and digital solutions. Your expertise will be essential in guiding our global technology function that supports our in-person events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support for various technology licenses and services, as well as business and digital product solution matters.
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret contracts and other legal documents, including global technology purchasing and license agreements.
  • Collaborate with digital service solution owners to advise on business and legal matters related to service developments and applicable laws.
  • Work with the Privacy and Information Security teams to ensure personal data and confidential information is collected, used, and secured in accordance with the law and company policy.
  • Offer timely and thoughtful legal advice on potential risks and issues, and propose practical, business-oriented solutions.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the latest developments in the law and technology as they relate to technology procurement and digital services.

Requirements

  • Have experience with product services counsel and regulatory matters related to building and supporting technology solutions.
  • Understand how to assess, develop, launch, and scale enterprise-focused products.
  • Have a thorough understanding of and demonstrated proficiency with technology agreements.
  • Demonstrate experience with UK, US, and international laws related to content, privacy, IP, and consumer protection.
  • Show ability to translate legal speak for Engineering and Product teams.
  • Be able to improve established thinking, processes, and systems to enhance collaboration and efficiency.
  • Be admitted with at least two years of relevant post-qualification experience.
