We are seeking a skilled SQL Developer to join our Data and Insight Service team. The successful candidate will design, develop, and deliver data products and services that support the delivery of business intelligence, analytics, and insights across the Council.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead database design, development, maintenance, and management.
- Develop and implement automated data flows for analytics and business intelligence systems.
- Transition manual data flows to automated systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to gather, interpret, and analyse data requirements.
- Support ongoing improvements in data management and development within the Data and Insight Service.
- Utilise agile development practices and contribute to the success of the service.
- A degree with a strong data component or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server tools, including SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Synapse and/or Data Factory.
- Familiarity with various SQL standards.
- Advanced SQL skills for data transformation, extraction, and manipulation.
- Experience in data modelling and the ability to reverse-engineer data models from various systems.
- Experience in developing automated data flows and full software development life cycle.
- Knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and/or continuous deployment methods.
- Willingness to undertake line-management responsibilities and commit to personal and professional development.
