About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Learning Support Team at Holderness Academy & Sixth Form College. As a key member of our team, you will provide one-to-one, small group, and classroom support to meet the needs of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those with barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to provide targeted support to students with SEND and barriers to learning
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the needs of students
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students in the classroom and during extracurricular activities
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and preparation, including adapting materials for students with SEND
  • Monitor and record student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless support for students
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • GCSE grade 5 (or equivalent) in both English and Maths
  • Experience of working with young people, particularly those with SEND
  • Knowledge of SEND, safeguarding, and child protection policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
