Key Stage 2 Learning Support Worker

As an Education Support Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing general classroom support for KS2 students, assisting teachers with day-to-day learning activities, group work, and helping students with their academic progress.
- Supporting students in a variety of subjects, ensuring they have the tools and guidance needed to succeed.
- Working 1:1 in the afternoons with a Year 1 child with autism, providing tailored support to help the child engage in their learning and activities.
- Assisting with communication and social interaction strategies for the child, adapting approaches to support their needs.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in working with primary school-aged children, ideally in a teaching assistant role.
- Experience working with children with autism, particularly non-verbal children, is highly desirable.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with the ability to build a positive relationship with children.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to individual needs.
- A proactive, flexible approach to supporting children's learning both in groups and individually.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are preferred.
Benefits
This role offers a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
