Special Needs Teaching Assistant Job
Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a supportive and patient teaching assistant to join a primary school in Northfield on a part-time basis. In this role, you will work closely with a child in Key Stage 1 who requires tailored support due to specific learning needs.
About the Role:You will provide personalized support to the child in both academic and social settings, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Main Responsibilities:- Develop close working relationships with the class teacher and SENCo to understand the student's needs and implement targeted support strategies.
- Support the student with tasks that require additional help, including reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the child's unique requirements, utilizing knowledge of various learning styles.
- Promote the student's independence and encourage their active participation in class activities.
- Regularly monitor progress, record observations, and provide constructive feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
- Contribute to the development and review of the child's IEP and EHCP, working collaboratively with other professionals.
- Level 2/3 childcare qualification or equivalent experience.
- Relevant experience in supporting children with special needs, preferably in a primary school setting.
- A kind and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive impact on young learners.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with various special educational needs and effective support strategies.
- An adaptable and flexible approach, able to respond to the unique needs of the child.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- This role is subject to Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016), requiring fluency in English language.
Salary range: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
