Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Design and Technical Manager to join our team at VanRath. As a Design and Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing design and pre-construction projects for the Education and Healthcare sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Coordinate and integrate design tasks into project schedules, ensuring timely and precise project delivery.
- Design Team Management: Assemble and manage design teams to ensure timely and precise project delivery.
- Client Communication: Obtain client design approval and manage design changes during construction.
- Risk Management: Partner with commercial and construction teams to mitigate project risks.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain the project risk register throughout the pre-construction phase.
- Team Leadership: Lead design team meetings, internally and externally.
- Mentorship: Mentor the design team and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of fire safety, and technical compliance.
- Design Review: Review design drawings in accordance with Current Regulations and identify discrepancies.
Requirements:
- Education: Degree in Technical Design, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven 5+ years' experience in design and technical management within the construction sector (preferably off-site).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of planning and building regulations in UK and Ireland, proficiency in project management software and tools including BIM, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, experience in CAD, Revit, SolidWorks.
