Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will manage design and pre-construction projects, exhibit excellent leadership skills, and drive technical excellence from initial design to project completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage design and pre-construction projects for the Education and Healthcare sectors.
  • Knowledgeable about JCT Design & Build contracts.
  • Experienced in using programming software such as Asta Powerproject and common data environment (CDE) software such as Viewpoint, Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Strong grasp of the commercial aspects of off-site construction.
  • Excellent skills in communication and organisation.
  • Coordinate and integrate design tasks into project schedules.
  • Assemble and manage design teams to ensure timely and precise project delivery.
  • Obtain client design approval and manage design changes during construction.
  • Partner with commercial and construction teams to mitigate project risks.
  • Maintain the project risk register throughout the pre-construction phase.
  • Lead design team meetings, internally and externally.
  • Mentor the design team and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety, and technical compliance.
  • Managing the RFI and NCR process.
  • Review design drawings in accordance with Current Regulations and identify discrepancies.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Technical Design, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Proven 5+ years' experience in design and technical management within the construction sector (preferably off-site).
  • Experience in CAD, Revit, SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of planning and building regulations in UK and Ireland.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools including BIM.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
