About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Forensic Nurse or Paramedic to join our team at Mountain Healthcare. As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to detainees in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

With a strong focus on patient-centered care, you will work closely with the police and other healthcare professionals to provide a comprehensive range of services, including forensic sampling, substance misuse therapies, and acute disease management.

Job Opportunity

This role is ideal for a qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic with a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience. You will have a strong background in acute medical healthcare and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

As a Forensic Custody Healthcare Professional, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in forensic healthcare, working closely with our experienced team to provide high-quality care to patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to detainees in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Conduct forensic sampling, including road traffic offence bloods
  • Signpost and conduct referrals, offering support for vulnerabilities and supporting patients to break patterns of re-offending
  • Deliver substance misuse therapies
  • Assess and care for detainees and staff in custody suites
  • Manage acute diseases
  • Promote good personal healthcare
  • Work with Liaison and Diversion to identify any mental health needs
Requirements
  • Qualified Registered Nurse or Paramedic
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience
  • Acute medical healthcare experience

Previous experience in A&E, walk-in centres, substance misuse, community nursing, police custody, prison, or as a Paramedic Practitioner or Registered Nurse would be ideal.
