Glasgow is seeking a highly motivated Sustainability Officer to join its team. This exciting opportunity is part of the city's efforts to tackle the climate emergency.

The successful candidate will report to the Energy Manager and be responsible for providing energy management services for the Glasgow Estate. Key responsibilities include monitoring and reporting of utilities, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with the Estates teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and deliver energy strategies, policies, and initiatives to achieve energy efficiency and sustainability goals.
  2. Implement and promote energy-efficient practices and schemes to reduce energy consumption.
  3. Collect, process, and maintain relevant data and information, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  4. Contribute to stakeholder engagement and develop relationships with council departments and external partners.
  5. Collaborate with the Estates teams to identify energy-saving opportunities and develop project proposals.
  6. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
  7. Monitor and report energy and water usage and costs, resolving invoicing issues and maintaining records.
  8. Manage workload, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and deliver no/low-cost actions to energy projects.

Requirements:

An HND or equivalent level qualification in a relevant Environmental discipline and a current driving licence are required.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
