**Job Overview:**

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is a leading provider of healthcare services in the region, and we are currently seeking an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join our team.

Salary: £32,000 - £43,041 per annum (Band 7)

Location: University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust, Southampton, UK

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to work with our Acute Paediatric SLT team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to babies and children with complex communication and swallowing difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing regular communication and swallowing assessment and therapy to babies and children with complex needs
  • Representing the SLT service within Paediatrics and working closely with the team of paediatric SLTs and wider MDT
  • Supporting patients to have instrumental assessment of their swallowing and offering training and support to less experienced SLTs and other staff

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Masters level qualification or equivalent experience
  • HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered speech and language therapist
  • Evidence of commitment to relevant ongoing CPD and development in relevant areas
  • Evidence of relevant speech and language therapy knowledge and expertise with recent experience demonstrating this
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Ability to communicate complex information fluently, confidently and effectively to a diverse range of people
