Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special education needs school in Luton. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing individualized support to students with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering lessons to small groups and individuals
  • Assisting pupils with academic tasks, homework, and projects
  • Encouraging independence, self-confidence, and self-esteem among students
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and achievements
  • Collaborating with the teaching team to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in special educational needs or related field (e.g., youth work, behaviour management)
  • Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, preferably in a primary setting
  • A strong understanding of child development and learning theories, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, dependent on experience
