We are seeking an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, providing clinical leadership to the South Bucks Older Adults Community Mental Health Team.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, working closely with consultant psychiatrist colleagues to provide high-quality care to patients aged 65 and above. The role involves seeing patients in community settings, out-patient clinics, and liaison services, as well as participating in memory assessments and clinical governance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of healthcare professionals in providing specialist geriatric psychiatric care.
  • Develop and implement effective clinical strategies, ensuring seamless collaboration with social care and other agencies.
  • Maintain expertise in old age psychiatry, staying up-to-date with best practices and policy developments.
  • Promote active clinical governance, participating in audits and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) and on the Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT in Psychiatry.
  • Experience in managing complex cases, developing treatment plans, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
